  1. Dandruff and itchy scalp?
      Mix two tablespoons of coconut oil (in summer) or sesame oil (in winter) with one teaspoon of lime juice. Apply this mixture on your scalp and leave it on for about an hour. Then wash your hair with a herbal shampoo.

    The combination of lime juice and coconut oil (or sesame oil) has alkaline and astringent properties which will reduce itchiness of the scalp. It also keeps the scalp healthy and nourishes the hair roots, promoting healthy hair growth and improving hair texture.

  2. Common cold and cough?
      Mix 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder and a pinch of turmeric powder, with 1 tablespoon of honey. Make a paste and take it two to three times a day, preferably followed by warm herbal tea (eg. fennel tea or green tea), about 10 minutes later.

    Cinnamon and black pepper will ease congestion and soreness in the throat and bronchus, while turmeric and honey will act to release mucus from the lungs and prevent further formation of phlegm.
