Therapeutic Yoga Yoga Workshop

Therapeutic Yoga

After the initial Ayurvedic Consultation, the individual’s bodily constitution, lifestyle and personal health requirements is established. Based on this, Yoga asanas (postures) and Pranayama (breathing techniques) is taught, according to the unique requirements of each person.

The objective is to make the Yoga practice therapeutic by creating a Yoga program/ practice suitable for the individual, which will address his/her weakness and health issues.

For example, if a person is experiencing lower back pain, then he/she should first practice Yoga asanas that will strengthen the back, before attempting to do other Yoga postures. This will not only eliminate the lower back pain, but will further help the individual to strengthen the spine and prepare him/her to practice more advanced Yoga exercises /asanas.

The benefit of practicing Therapeutic Yoga is that we actually address the specific needs of the individual. The person is also given detailed explanation about the techniques and benefits of each Yoga exercise. In addition, by giving personal attention to address each person’s requirements, the individual’s progress and health improvements can be clearly monitored.

Note : Therapeutic Yoga is not part of the initial Ayurvedic Consultation, it is taught in subsequent sessions as part of the healing sessions
